Eddie Hearn in ongoing talks with Conor McGregor for Katie Taylor’s homecoming fight sponsorship

Eddie Hearn has a strong desire to secure a sponsorship deal with one of Conor McGregor’s brands in order to promote the super fight that will take place between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will meet again at the 3Arena in Dublin on March 20 for the undisputed lightweight championship. Conor McGregor and the Irish superstar’s camp have discussed collaborating on promotion for their upcoming mega fight.

What does Eddie Hearn think about the sponsorship deal with Conor McGregor?

Eddie, Chairman of Matchroom Boxing, anticipates more contributions from “The Notorious” in the lead-up to the super fight than just being a promoter of the event. The British boxer anticipates that McGregor’s beverage company will emerge as the primary sponsor of the fight, which will lead to a glorious success in organizing the fight.

“Conor’s confirmed that he wants to sponsor the event. So we’re speaking to Audie [Attar, McGregor’s manager] and his team right now. It’s about Proper Twelve whiskey and Forged Irish Stout, so expect to see them involved in the event.” said Eddie.

The Matchroom Sports founder believes Conor genuinely has a passion to support Katie Taylor. According to the 43-year-old promoter, the former two-division champion in UFC respects and admires Katie as a fighter.

The Notorious has already met Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Taylor, a few days ago in a promotional campaign for the bout. However, as McGregor is currently wrapping up the filming of the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, it is not yet confirmed by Eddie whether he will be able to see the fight live.

“I don’t know. I don’t know what his schedule will be like, he’s filming at the moment so we’re not sure. But if he can be, he’d love to [be there].” Eddie further added.

Katie Taylor’s Response to the ongoing sponsorship talks

Katie Taylor and her team acknowledged Conor McGregor with a warm warning that “It’s not the McGregor show.” The statement appears at the time when the legend of the octagon has taken a long period of inactivity from the ring before suffering consecutive losses against Dustin Poirier.
