Conor McGregor got perfect location in mind for UFC comeback amid contract negotiations

Ahead of his Hollywood debut with Roadhouse, the former Double Champ and UFC icon Conor McGregor recently expressed his thoughts on re-signing his contract with the UFC. Having 2 fights left in his current contract, Conor expects to return twice this year.

Booked for a super fight with Michael Chandler, “The Notorious” is expected to return in June and has a bigger fight in mind for his last bout of the contract.

Conor McGregor talks on re-signing with UFC

Having 2 fights left in his contract, Conor McGregor expressed in an interview with ESPN MMA that he ‘does not know’ what’s next for him.

“I’ve not been accosted with it (resigning). There has been no talk of a resign. How do you even approach someone like me to resign?” said McGregor.

Conor also expressed that he’s sure that the UFC is thinking about it, but they also want to see things play out before making a decision.

“Let’s see it goes (referring to the 2 fights left in his contract), and after that, we’ll see where it goes. Do I sign a deal? Am I a free agent?” Conor told ESPN, expressing his confusion about the future negotiations that may take place soon.

“You know I love the UFC dearly… my heart is in the UFC. My catalogue, my life… I love everyone in the company, and all the fighters, events and cards… and I wish to continue this.” said McGregor, leaving a glimpse of hope in the eyes for “The Notorious'” fanbase.

Conor McGregor reveals potential location of next bout

On being asked about the rest of the 2 fights left in his contract, McGregor expressed that the first fight is confirmed to be held against Michael Chandler, the three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion, who has been set on wanting to face McGregor since 2022.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler also shared the spotlight as judges of the last season of The Ultimate Fighter, a reality TV Show that selects potential UFC contenders via elimination bouts. McGregor and Chandler also did multiple faceoffs, creating a buzz about Conor’s comeback, but it never came to fruition.

McGregor confirmed in the interview that he will be going against Chandler this year in the summer (potentially June), to which Michael Chandler has also agreed. Fan posters of the same events have already surfaced all over social media.

McGregor has also expressed wanting to fight the Stockton BJJ Prodigy, Nate Diaz, who Conor has previously fought twice in the UFC. According to Conor, that would be a super-fight for the fans.

Conor also suggested that he wanted to have the Nate Diaz bout in ‘The Sphere’ in Nevada for Mexican Independence Day. “I think that’s an absolute perfection of a fight,” said Conor back then, who has brought out the Nate Diaz matchup on multiple occasions, but the UFC has expressed its disapproval about the same.
