Dana White gets confronted by a MMA reporter for his 2014 quote about hitting women

Dana White certainly likes to uphold his UFC head honcho in real-life. He gets very defensive when asked uncomfortable questions, thinks he has the best deals in terms of fighter pay and tries to talk himself up. Now one of his virtuous quotes made back in 2014 might just have come back to haunt him.

On new year’s eve, Dana was in a party with his wife. Alcohol’s began flowing, bodies got intoxicated and things got out of hand. Dana was seen whispering something into the ear’s of his wife Anne. She didn’t like her husbands actions and responded with a slap. Dana returned the favor like a true advocate of gender equality and a brawl nearly broke out. The people present at the scene stepped in to quickly de-escalate the situation before someone got hurt bad.

After the incident White had this to say, “My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We’ve known each other since we were 12 years old. We’ve obviously been through some shit together, and we’ve got three kids. This is one of those situations that are horrible. I’m embarrassed. But it’s also one of those situations where right now we’re more concerned with our kids. We have three kids and obviously since the video popped up, we’ve shown the kids the video. We’re more focused on our family right now.”

Dana also addressed peoples reactions saying, “People are going to have opinions on this, and most of the people’s opinions are gonna be right, especially in my case, you don’t put your hands on a woman ever. My wife and I obviously love each other and have been together for a very long time. We’ve known each other since we were very little and this is just one of those unfortunate situations.”

During a recent interview a reporter asked him about his quote about hitting women leaving him embarrassed. In 2014 the UFC president said, “There’s one thing that you never bounce back from and that’s putting your hands on a woman. Been that way in the UFC since we started here. You don’t bounce back from putting your hands on a woman.”

What do you think about Dana White’s statements?
