“Don’t need to talk, my friend” Ciryl Gane urges Jon Jones to “do the job in the cage” ahead of UFC 285 bout

Ciryl Gane rocks the moniker ‘Bon Gamin’ for a reason. The soft-spoken French has gained a reputation for his gentle behavior but vicious fighting style. Jone Jones, on the other hand, likes to wage verbal war on his opponents before things get physical. However, the former title challenger has requested ‘Bones’ drop the unnecessary chatter.

In a recent Tweet, Jon wrote, “Man, I just finished watching my Thiago Santos fight again. I think it’s crazy that you guys consider (Ciryl) Gane the most technical kickboxer I’ve ever faced. Everything Thiago did have bad intentions on it. Dude had lightning speed, power, explosiveness. (And) Crazy versatility.”

Cyril did not want to start any beef with Jones for such comments and simply said, “Don’t need to talk, my friend. We’re going to do the job in the cage. And we will see.”

How does Cyril Gane look ahead of his upcoming fight?

Fighters like Cyril Gane and Tom Aspinall are considered to be the next generation of heavyweight fighters. While the majority of fighters belonging to this weight class usually rely on this bulky composure and knockout power to win fights, these two tend to bring the whole MMA package inside the Octagon.

Gane has defeated the likes of Junior Dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstroik, Alexander Volkov, Derrick lewis, and Tai Tuivasa in his journey to the top. Jon has been known to use his long reach and agility to outmanoeuvre his opponents. But this time around, he is putting on more weight than normal.

In UFC, if you talk the talk, then you are expected to walk the walk. Ahead of the biggest challenge of his life, ‘Bon Gamin will look to make a statement by showing his combat prowess in the appropriate place. Jones has the opportunity to solidify his legacy, while Gane has the opportunity to become a champion by defeating a legend.

UFC 285 goes down on March 4th.
