‘The Diamond’ recently shared a photo on his Twitter where he shared the desk with two renowned faces of UFC. The esteemed analyst and coach Dinn Thomas along with the eloquent host Megan Olivi, accompanied Poirier.

Poirier last fough back in November, 2022. He defeated Michael Chandler with a rear-naked chokehold. That submission was emblematic of the name he has built for himself in the octagon. However, he has been out of any discussion ever since. This time around he will bring his experience and expertise into the table.

On the other hand, Justin Gaethje called him out after his stupendous win against Rafael Fiziev. A lot counted Gaethje out on that occasion. ‘The highlight’ proved a lot of doubters wrong. Creating his own highlight reel on that magnificent win, Gaethje called for a fight against Poirier. He claimed that the fight was a long time coming. In fact, he had been waiting to get his revenge over Poirier. The two faced back in 2018, where Poirier knocked out Gaethje.

Since then the fight has been lingering over his head like a thorn stuck in his throat. Then again, Poirier did not respond to any of Gaethje’s callouts. Whether he will, is yet to be known. That being said, it will be a fight to watch if the negotiations go ahead.

Poirier may be ambivalent about any future fights now. Then again, he has new things to look forward to. He might even consider himself as an analyst after he hangs up the gloves. Which is why, he will look to create an impression with in-depth analysis. Poirier does not have any dearth of knowledge on this ground. And this knowledge can come handy for him in his new venture.

What are your thoughts about Poirier as an analyst? Should he consider this as one of the future prospects if he impresses on this occasion?
