Ex-UFC fighter Raulian Paiva denies allegations of domestic violence following prison release

Former UFC fighter Raulian Paiva has been arrested in Brazil for allegations of domestic violence. However, recently, he denied all the allegations against him and got released from prison. According to him, everything was a lie made up by his wife, Vanilza Santos.

The former Brazilian MMA star Raulian Paiva has been arrested for domestic violence, according to Globo Esporte Amapá and AG Fight, two Brazilian news outlets. According to the reports, the incident took place on Monday, Jan. 23.

Following the incident, the former UFC bantamweight fighter’s wife went to the nearest police station and then told officers that her husband forced her to leave their home.

Paiva also threatened her, saying, “I’m going to kill you and throw your things in the street.”

Although at the time of the incident, she was accompanied by her friend, who witnessed the whole incident and confirmed the fact.

However, after being released from prison, Paiva denied all the allegations and claimed everything was just made up by his wife. He also added that there was no physical altercation between him and his wife that night. They had a little argument, and in a moment of fury, her wife went to the police station.

Later, he claimed that everything is fine now. In an interview with Globo Esporte Amapá, the 27-year-old stated all the information. 

“The threats and aggressions are a lie. We had an argument, and in a moment of fury, my wife went to the police station and filed a complaint with a hot head. But we’ve sorted it out, and we’re fine.”

After losing to his opponent twice in a row, the former flyweight competitor was released from the UFC.

Afterward, he initially earned his contract to the UFC after his win over Allan Nascimento on DWCS in 2018. Having said that, lately, The UFC has parted ways with ten of its fighters and Paiva was one of them.

Despite his short UFC career, he has had some spectacular victories over his opponents, with a record of 26-21-5. His most recent match was on June 25, 2022, against Sergey Morozov, which he lost.
