Conor McGregor is expected to make a comeback against Michael Chandler after nearly two years away from the cage. The former UFC rival of the Irishman, Dustin Poirier, is placing a wager on Conor to brutally defeat Chandler.
The Diamond previously stated in an interview that Chandler would make the ideal opponent for Conor’s return fight at this point of his career since Conor would easily defeat the “Iron.”

Dustin Poirier made a bold prediction on the Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fight
The highly anticipated Conor-Chandler fight was once again brought up by the American lightweight superstar. Poirier recently predicted the outcome of the bout during an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.
“If he comes back similar to who he was before he left, I think he stops Michael Chandler. If Conor is who he was before the injury and stuff, I think two rounds, I think the fight is over in two rounds.” Dustin said.
Conor’s great career experienced a significant pause because of Dustin. By viciously shattering Conor’s tibia and fibula in the first round of their third fight at UFC 264, Poirier not only defeated the Irishman but also put a pause to his great career. Conor needed two years to recover fully after sustaining the devastating leg injury.

Rivalry between The Notorious and The Diamond
The Diamond and The Notorious have been at each other’s throats for a very long time. Conor and Dustin first faced off against one another in 2014 at UFC178, which marked the beginning of their rivalry. The Irish fighter defeated Dustin in the first round by technical knockout.
The situation changed, though, when Conor and Dustin engaged in two fights within a six-month period in 2021. The Diamond this time outperformed Mystic Mac on both occasions. By brutally defeating The Notorious on both occasions at UFC 257 and UFC 264, Dustin won the trilogy between the two of them.
