Ex-UFC star Ben Askren takes sly dig at Conor McGregor after he claimed to beat Matt Brown and Derrick Lewis’s records for most KO wins

Conor “The Notorious” McGregor recently boasted big on Twitter that he had broken the UFC record for the most KO victories. Former UFC fighter Ben Askren, however, replied to this. McGregor announced his ambition to beat Matt Brown and Derrick Lewis’s record of 13 KOs each, but Askren had a few things to say about the Irishman’s ability to achieve this feat.

Ben Askren Throws Shade at McGregor’s Inactivity, Questions Ability to Achieve KO Record

“Lol you don’t show up for work often enough,” wrote Askren, poking fun at McGregor’s inactivity and casting doubt on his ability to follow through on his claims. McGregor has been plagued by external shenanigans and a recent tussle with USADA, causing concerns about the potentiality of his comeback fight happening this year. Despite these doubts, McGregor is adamant about returning to the octagon in style.

With his return opponent, Michael Chandler, he will be a coach in the next 31st season of “The Ultimate Fighter.”  Nevertheless, McGregor’s recent performance has been quite dismal. The “Mystic Mac” is now on a two-fight losing streak, and his most recent triumph came against Donald Cerrone in 2020.

This, coupled with his lengthy time spent on the sidelines due to his leg injury, presents a daunting task for McGregor to achieve his KO record ambitions. Both supporters and detractors of McGregor are now anxiously awaiting the official announcement of his comeback fight, with rumors flying about who he may face.

Will we witness ‘The Notorious’ make a successful return to the octagon and break the KO record? He suffered two consecutive losses, and his last victory was against Donald Cerrone way back in 2020. The record for the most knockouts is now held by Matt Brown and Derrick Lewis of the UFC, but the Irishman is unshakable in his resolve to break it.

The Ambition and Determination of Conor McGregor: Can He Overcome the Odds and Break Records Once Again?

Retired UFC fighter Ben Askren seems less than impressed with McGregor’s claims. In a recent tweet, Askren taunted McGregor over his inactivity, writing, “Lol you don’t show up for work often enough.” It’s understandable why some people might view McGregor’s ambition as a daunting task.

Despite this, McGregor remains determined to make a successful comeback. He will be coaching on the 31st installment of “The Ultimate Fighter” alongside his anticipated comeback opponent, Michael Chandler. The snippets released from the show suggest that this season will be an intense and entertaining one.
