“He does three things perfect” former UFC legend Chael Sonnen’s advice to up coming fighters comes as incredible compliment for Conor McGregor

In a recent episode of Beyond the Fight, Chael Sonnen, an American submission-grabbing promoter and seasoned analyst, commented on Conor McGregor‘s wrestling training on film and offered advice on his YouTube channel.

McGregor has improved his fighting techniques and worked hard on his physique since his last bout. The former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight champion regularly posts workout pictures.

The Mystic Mac hasn’t been in the octagon since he lost to American fighter Dustin Poirier on July 11, 2021, at UFC 264. That was the last time he lost in the UFC. During the fight, McGregor hurt his leg in a scary way, which kept him from fighting for a long time.

McGregor’s training video sparked talk of a possible comeback, with UFC great Chael Sonnen claiming that the Irishman has been working on his wrestling skills.

However, Chael Sonnen seemed impressed by the Dublin-born wrestler’s most recent video. He stated, “he [Conor McGregor] does three things perfect.”

The former UFC legend advises that the aspiring fighter watch the former UFC two-division champion’s training video on a regular basis.

He explained, “The first is called a side- Whizzer. If you put your hook, which means you put your fist on the guy’s arm pit. That is going to allow you to hang on.” Therefore, he added, “That would be the equivalent of the cowboy on the ball. You will never be taken down until you take out your side-Whizzer.”

Sonnen then quickly moves on to the second thing, referring to it as “hips and head pressure.” On top of that, he praises Conor McGregor for putting things together. He continues, “He [Conor McGregor] will post your head and push it down so you’re weak. He will then cover it with his hip.”

Sonnen reminds MMA fans that although McGregor pulls this off with ease, it is not a common sight. He stated, “But you can work with guys for five and six, and seven years. You can’t get them to do that.”

The former middleweight and light-heavyweight champion then elaborated on the final perfect thing. He stated, “When Conor McGregor is in trouble in wrestling, he backs away.”

Moreover, ‘The Bad Guy’ insinuated that McGregor isn’t training to just look good on social media, but is seriously rebuilding himself for a comeback. Sonnen stated, “You don’t play wrestling. It’s very difficult. It’s very hard stuff. And the fact that Conor McGregor is out there on a weekend — pushing and pulling, holding the stance and he’s wrestling — guys, he’s coming back.”
