“He’s a perfectionist”: Conor McGregor’s documentary director draws fascinating similarity of UFC legend with Steph Curry and Tom Brady

In a recent interview with BroBible, Gotham Chopra, the director of the highly anticipated Netflix documentary “McGregor Forever,” shared his insights into working with Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor.

Chopra expressed admiration for McGregor’s mindset, highlighting that he is not one to dwell on losses or become easily distracted. He drew a parallel between Conor and the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant, emphasizing their shared character trait.

Gotham also compared McGregor to other sports icons such as Tom Brady and Steph Curry, highlighting their respective strengths and unique qualities.

“He’s a mad scientist. You know, he’s obsessive. Personality-wise, he’s quite similar to Kobe [Bryant], like there’s a definance and a combativeness to him of course. But he couldn’t be opposite of Tom Brady or Steph Curry I would say as the most gentle guy,” said Chopra.

In praise of McGregor’s work ethic, the director commended the Irish fighter’s continuous drive to evolve. Despite achieving significant fame and financial success, Conor’s dedication to self-improvement and his relentless competitive spirit seems to remain unwavering.

The director acknowledged that McGregor’s passion for fighting persists, even when he has already reached a level where he no longer needs to step into the ring.

“Despite all of the fame and the fortune and all the people that are always around him…that’s not what it’s about. For him, it’s about can I be better and that is pretty similar…He always like looks back, ‘I could’ve done this different and so, therefore, I’m going to try it again,'” the director added.
