“I want to solidify my legacy” Jon Jones wants to fight G.O.A.T Stipe Miocic after facing Ciryl Gane at UFC 285

Over three years after his last UFC bout, Jon Jones is preparing to make his return (UFC 285). However, Jones has already stated that he wants to face Stipe Miocic after his comeback bout.

Jon and  Cyril Gane will be competing against one other in the octagon at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 4 in the event’s blockbuster bout in order to determine who will walk away with the heavyweight title.

Having debuted in the UFC this year, Gane has gone on to compete in nine bouts, winning eight while losing only to Francis, a former heavyweight champion. Right now, the 32-year-old fighter boasts an 11-1 record in MMA competition.

On the other hand, Jon Jones has had incredible success in mixed martial arts, with a record of 26-1-0. With a UFC career spanning from 2008 through 2020, and a single loss to Matt Hamill, it’s safe to say that Jon Jones has been a formidable fighter all along.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the American light heavyweight tycoon revealed his plans for the forthcoming return fight in the UFC 285 and the opponent he hopes to face next.

“You know, Stipe Miocic would be a great challenge. Obviously, I’m not looking past Ciryl Gane – I’ve got a huge, huge order ahead of me. But Stipe Miocic is who I’ve got my eyes on. People consider him the greatest heavyweight of all time.” Jones said.

When it comes to his next bout, Bones would like nothing more than to take on Stipe Miocic, a former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion who has been a rival to former Heavyweight legend Francis Ngannou.

“And the opportunity to compete against such a man, I’d be honored. The opportunity to beat such a guy would be truly something special and that’s what I want to do. I want to solidify my legacy, and I know you have to fight the best guys out there. And as long as Stipe’s still in the game, that would be the next – that would be my next target.” Jones further added.

Many consider Jon Jones to be the best fighter of all time, regardless of weight class; do you see him facing Miocic in the near future?
