UFC 274 featured two lightweight bouts, one of which was for the lightweight strap. The other was contested between Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson and “Iron” Micheal Chandler.

In the main event for the lightweight belt, Charles Oliveira submitted Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje in the very first round. But as the former Champ missed weight and was stripped of his belt, he only retains the right to fight for the belt once again, not the belt itself.

Conor Mcgregor has good reason to be excited after UFC 274, as both Charles Oliveria and Micheal Chandler called out McGregor after their successful outings!

Despite Conor’s most recent fight ending in a horrible leg injury, he remains the UFC’s biggest moneymaker.

Chandler called McGregor to face him at welterweight (170 lbs).

After UFC 274, the lightweight division has been blown wide open. Oliveira has defeated the top contenders Chandler, Poirier, and Gaethje. It seems the only challenge left for Du Bronx is Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protege: Islam Makhachev.

But Oliveira seems more eager to fight Conor for the vacant lightweight strap. It remains to be seen what Conor does in response to the call-outs.

Conor McGregor has been very active on Twitter in the aftermath of UFC 274. He has mocked the brutal knockout of Tony Ferguson comparing it to “chicken nuggets”.
