John Fury claims Tyson Fury’s ‘circus’ like camp reason for ‘decline’ in performances, doubtful of victory against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has been one of the most dominant boxing heavyweights of all time. With no losses from the past 35 fights, Fury has shown it doesn’t require a good shape to be a champion. With over 6 feet 9 inches of height, Tyson may be the tallest champion, but the results he has are the tallest as well.

This time, Fury will be facing a boxer who, like him, is undefeated in the boxing ring. With 21 wins, no losses Oleksandr Usyk will be in the ring against the WBC champion, who just finished as the top-ranked heavyweight mixed martial artist.

John Fury is not sure Tyson Fury will win against Oleksandr Usyk.

This is seemingly the first time a father looks worried about his champion son. John Fury doesn’t look that confident about the victory of his Tyson Fury, who is having the upcoming bout on February 17th. Father Fury looked worried if his son has chances against Usyk. John predicted the results of the boxing fight between his son and Francis Ngannou, but this time he did not show that confident a prediction.

John Fury, while talking to Seconds Out Boxing, expressed concern about his eldest son, worrying Tyson Fury may not hold the title in his hand this time at 2024’s February bout. Fury’s father said, “I never said my son was in decline because he’s not. It’s the people around him who aren’t up to much. His training’s in decline, and his camp’s in a bigger decline. It’s not a camp; it’s a circus.”

John shared his shocking reaction and what he witnessed, “I saw him in the gym in Saudi Arabia, watched him spar three or four rounds with a couple of kids—I knew then it was going to be a hard night’s work. I thought, ‘What have you been doing?’ I was alarmed. I still am.”

Father Fury compared his son’s training intensity with Usyk’s training camp. “Unless you’re going to get the eye of the tiger back and go back to the old ways and get the hunger back—sweat, blood, s***, and tears. Because Usyk’s doing that—sweat, blood, s***, and tears.”

Who does Tyson Fury train with?

The expected bout between Fury and Usyk has already been discussed and finalized. Tyson Fury’s trainer, SugarHill Steward, who showed him a picture one year ago and how he could tackle Oleksandr Usyk, always has faith in his student. SugarHill has been a Detroit Policeman and also the nephew of Hall of Famer trainer Emmanuel Steward.

Steward got Tyson Fury’s coaching duty in 2020 when Fury needed to prepare for the second fight against Deontay Wilder. At that time, Fury showed what he actually wanted in his second fight against Wilder, and that’s what Sugarhill’s training gave him.
