The career of the dragon, Lyoto Machida, is almost over. Although his manager wants to talk to Dana for the retirement fight against Shogun, fans are anticipating his final fight and want to see him retire on a high note.
Recently, there has been a rumor about Machida’s career, suggesting that he was in talks with Karate Combat. However, it appears that Machida might take a new and unexpected turn. Although it’s unclear exactly where his path will take him, many believe Machida will eventually return to the UFC.

Shortly after it was announced that UFC Rio would be Shogun’s last fight, Machida’s representative met UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell and suggested Lyoto for a trilogy. Hunter replied that he loved the concept and intended to discuss it with Dana White. Brazilian fans would be thrilled to see the two MMA icons square off again. Shogun is already a member of the Hall of Fame, and Lyoto is deserving of that as well.
Meanwhile, Brazilians, if the stories are true, are in for a real treat. They are scheduling a bout between their two sportsmen at UFC Rio. Machida’s retirement in Japan would be a fitting send-off to his career there.
