“Makes no difference to me” Alex Pereira eyes his first title defense with Israel Adesanya or Robert Whittaker

The middleweight division in the UFC ran slightly stale after Robert Whittaker failed to land a fight and Khamzat’s fight with Costa didn’t materialize. All the other top contenders are just fighting each other at this point and some fans are tired.

The current champ Alex Pereira wants to bring some light back to his weight class as he reveals a potential date for his comeback.

‘Paotan’ recently teased a return against top contender Robert Whittaker stating, “I see these two guys [next], Adesanya was a dominant champion so he has the preference to be competing for the belt again, but if he doesn’t want that, it will be Whittaker. I don’t think they’ll put someone else in other than Whittaker. He already said his game doesn’t match well with Adesanya but would be a good fight with me, so I’ll be ready for both.”

He didn’t rule out a quadropology (2nd fight under UFC) against his nemesis Israel Adesanya, “I won’t do anything to hurt Adesanya’s plans and avoid this fight. If that’s what he wants, we’ll fight. If for some reason he doesn’t want to fight me, that makes no difference to me, it’ll be Whittaker instead. And if Whittaker doesn’t want it, there are several others that do.”

Who should Alex Pereira return against?

Alex’s weaknesses in wrestling were on full display during his match against Israel ‘The last Stylebender’ Adesanya. The Kiwi was no pro wrestler himself but still managed to deliver a hard time for the title challenger.

Khamzat Chimaev immediately seized the opportunity and called out for a fight with Pereira as the Chechen was confident in his wrestling skills.

The Brazillian was quick to respond and he called ‘Borz’ out for a match at 205lbs. This was a smart move by the current champion as wrestling would be difficult for a heavier opponent.

Under Glory Kickboxing, Alex fought in both the middleweight and light-heavyweight divisions so he has no shortage of experience in moving up a weight class.

Recently, newly crowned 205lb champion Jamahal Hill also squared off against Alex so the champion could even move up to avenge his teammate Glover Teixeira.

Fans just want to see more action from these big-time fighters as soon s possible.
