“Pereira’s son is going to try to get that back when he turns 18”: Fans’ reaction on Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira rivalry comes as bombshell after Izzy’s win at UFC 287

Israel Adesanya finally got his revenge against his arch-nemesis Alex Pereira after he knocked out the Brazilian middleweight cold in the second round of the UFC 287 main event title fight. After losing twice to Poatan in kickboxing and once in MMA at UFC 281, The Last Stylebender had vengeance on his mind.

During the entire build-up of the rematch, Adesanya didn’t speak trash and claimed that his hands will do the talking. And they truly did as he put Pereira to sleep with a vicious right hook. After reclaiming his middleweight title, Izzy wasted no time to celebrate. Interestingly, Adesanya copied Alex Pereira and pulled out the bow and arrow celebration.

However, Israel Adesanya’s antics didn’t stop there as he came back to the corner of the octagon and pointed to someone and mocked Pereira’s knockout fall by mimicking it. From a different video, it is confirmed that Izzy pointed his finger towards Pereira’s son.

Not only did The Last Stylebender take revenge from Alex Pereira by knocking him out but he also repayed the Brazilian fighter’s son mocking him after his knockout loss in the rematch by doing the celebration. UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad posted a video of Izzy’s celebration on his twitter page.

Israel Adesanya explains the reason behind mocking Alex Pereira’s son after his win at UFC 287

It is needless to say that Israel Adesanya produced one of the coldest knockouts in the history of UFC and has subsequently, solidified his place as one of the greatest middleweight fighters. In the post-fight press conference, Izzy explained his celebrations and also shared that he is petty and that is the main reason why he mocked Pereira’s son.

“I am petty bro. The first time he knocked me out in Brazil, his son came into the ring and decided to just lie dead next to me. I was like, ‘you fucking asshole, I will whoop you ass if you dad won’t do it for you.’ I looked for his kid, I pointed at him and I saw him and I was like, “hey, hey, hey.”

Adesanya’s comments may come as a shocker for some but many fans must have anticipated that the Middleweight champion will pull something like that. With that being said, it was great to see these two middleweight giants put on an entertaining show.

Israel Adesanya has confirmed that he won’t fight Alex Pereira immediately and wants the Brazilian middleweight to face new challenges if he decides to stay in the 185-pound division. Many fans are gunning for a fourth fight between Izzy and Alex, but it is unlikely that we would see these two collide again this year.
