Shaquille O’Neal reminds fans the reason for his $100,000 difference-making lie

Shaquille O’Neal, who won three consecutive championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, one with the Miami Heat, and eventually retired as a Boston Celtic, once collaborated with West Coast Choppers to create a massive 14-foot black chrome chopper.

Later, the custom bike maker accused Shaq of fabricating the original bike price, which turned out to be much lower than what Shaq had stated. However, the big man had the most remarkable comeback anyone could think of in his response.

Shaq O’Neal lied about the price of his $55k bike

After Shaquille O’Neal had requested a custom bike, it took the company more than a year to complete the chopper. Jesse, the person who handled the deal, claimed to have sold the bike to Shaq for $55,000. However, Jesse discovered that Shaq had falsely stated the bike’s price while at the Century Club in Los Angeles and confronted him on camera.

Apparently, Big Diesel had told everyone in the club that he had it made for $155,000, which was $100,000 more than the actual price. Shaq later explained his reason for exaggerating the price in a viral YouTube post.

Shaq said “Well Jesse, the answer is, I wanted to make you look good. I only paid 50 [50,000] but if I tell them I paid 100 [100,000] when they come, and ask for the same bike, you tell them a 100. Your profit is 100[$100,000]. I was looking out for you, not for me.”

This actually made sense, especially because Shaq himself has a strong personal brand. By showcasing the bike at $155,000, he essentially provided free advertising for luxury bikes. The four-time NBA champion shared the video of his interaction with Jesse on his Instagram story.

However, his current car collection includes a Ford F-650 (Terminator-themed), a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, a 2016 Dodge Challenger Convertible, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Rolls Royce Cullinan (2022), a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Chevrolet G1500, a Jeep Wrangler, a Mercedes Benz S550 Sedan, and a Ferrari.
