Song Yadong calls out Marlon Chito Vera after thumping KO victory vs Ricky Simon at UFC Vegas 72

Song Yadong is aiming high following a stunning triumph over Ricky Simon. In the octagon interview the Kung Fu Kid has called out Marlon Chito Vera for his next fight.

Yadong battled Ricky in tonight’s UFC Fight Night event at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, Las Vegas Metropolitan Area. The bout was supposed to take place last week, but it was postponed at the last minute and moved to this week’s fight week as the main event.

Who did Song Yadong call out to fight him next?

Ricky entered the octagon on a five-fight winning streak, while Song was coming off a loss to Cory Sandhagen. However, Song turned the tables in the second minute of the fifth round, defeating the American fighter with a technical knockout to get back on the winning track.

Song, the current number eight-ranked bantamweight fighter, is currently focusing on getting closer to a title shot. Following the fight, the Chinese fighter stated who he would like to fight next.

“Sean O’Malley. Or Chito Vera. You wanna fight again? Rematch? If you don’t agree our first fight, let’s go.” said Song.

Sean O’Malley is presently ranked second in the bantamweight division, with just Merab Dvalishvili ahead of him. With a title bout between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo set to take place next week, beating O’Malley only strengthens Song’s position in the division.

The 25-year-old Chinese superstar is also keen in resuming his rivalry with Marlon Vera, the division’s fifth-ranked fighter. The two bantamweight stars clashed in 2020, and Kung Fu Kid won by unanimous decision over Chito, ending his five-fight winning streak, which the Ecuadorian fighter did not take well.
