Super Bowl champ Antonio Brown extends olive branch to Tom Brady with unexpected invitation

Antonio Brown, the former WR, and Tom Brady, the former legendary QB, began with a positive alliance as Brady endorsed Brown’s inclusion in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the dynamic shifted dramatically when the former WR made a shirtless exit from MetLife Stadium.

Years later, in a surprising twist, Brown has extended an apology to the former quarterback, marking a potential turning point in their tumultuous relationship.

Antonio Brown seeks reconciliation with Tom Brady

Antonio Brown suddenly wants to reconcile with the seven-time Super Bowl champion. However, unlike the usual way of ending discontent with someone, the former WR offered Brady to do an activity together.

Antonio Brown extended an apology to Tom Brady via a tweet, suggesting they go fishing together.

No explanation, nothing, just a suggestion of fishing together—this is how Brown wants to reconcile with the former QB.

However, now it completely depends on Tom Brady whether he wants to accept this apology or not. Because the seven-time Super Bowl champion is no longer a part of football he might not want to reconcile with his former NFL mates.

What happened between Brown and Brady?

The falling out between the 46-year-old and Antonio Brown intensified during contract negotiations after Super Bowl LV. The former WR claimed Brady cursed his agent during negotiations, leading to strained relations.

“After we get the ring in [2020], the next year, I’m the last guy that signed,” Antonio Brown said. “My agent, Ed Wasielewski, is getting called, cursed out by Tom Brady over ‘Why is he pushing back for the contract for scraps?’ Imagine if you heard that, the same guy that brought you in to win a ring, the same agent he told you to hook up with to get the deal, is now telling me, the guy’s calling him … cursing him out about scraps of a contract.”

Brown has consistently made negative comments about the former QB, questioning their friendship and blaming him for gaslighting him. He accused Tom Brady of giving him special treatment and not keeping promises, including not throwing him the ball as agreed.

Antonio Brown’s last NFL game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers involved a memorable exit, where he infamously removed his jersey and left the field during a game against the Jets at the end of the 2021 season.

Following the incident, the Buccaneers released the former WR a few days later. Brown claimed that the 46-year-old played a role in convincing him to play against the Jets despite the injury by promising him 10 to 12 targets.

Despite feeling hurt, Brown stated that the former QB’s encouragement influenced his decision to play.

Brown addressed the situation on Tyreek Hill’s “It Needed To Be Said” podcast, “Tom Brady hit me up like ‘Yo, this is a big week. I know my s— f—– up, but if he gonna gas me like that, why not? So I dressed up, suited up and once I got to New York, I already felt the bad energy.”

The former WR described his relationship with Brady as primarily a “football relationship,” acknowledging they didn’t have much in common beyond the game.

Despite attempts to reconcile, the former WR continued to attack Brady on social media, making awkward comments about Brady’s divorce from Gisele Bundchen through tweets like these:

Amid all this drama, the 46-year-old consistently supported Antonio Brown, even after the dramatic exit, offering help and vouching for him.

Regardless of their strained relationship, both Brown and Brady will be forever linked by their iconic Super Bowl victory with the Buccaneers in 2021.
