The UFC middleweight division is about to be shaken up at UFC 276. With the main card between champion Adesanya and Jared Cannonier being the decider for the middleweight championship, the undercard features a title eliminator bout between Sean Strickland and Alex Pereira.
Strickland has been a UFC mainstay for a long time. He has won the last six of his fights. He is currently undefeated in the middleweight division. If Strickland does manage to pull off and win against Alex Pereira, he will undoubtedly get that title shot.
The Paris MMA trajectory is very different from Strickland’s. Unlike Sean, who has been a mixed martial artist all his life, Pereira migrated from kickboxing and joined the UFC recently.
Despite being only 2 fights in with the organization, Alex has gained a lot of momentum due to his infamous knockout of current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya during their kickboxing days. Pereira holds a win over Adesanya, and these prior wins could be the deciding factor in him getting a title shot.
But before getting a shot at Izzy, Pereira will have to go through the formidable Sean Strickland. Let us take a look at the fight versus these two middleweight contenders.
