UFC Vegas 76: Sean Strickland expresses frustration on not getting title shot following dominating win vs Abus Magomedov

With yet another impressive victory, Sean Strickland not only sent a resounding message that he is a force to be reckoned with in the middleweight division but also expressed his frustration for not getting a title shot.

Tonight’s UFC Fight Night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, showcased a thrilling headliner bout between two formidable middleweight contenders.

Strickland, boasting an impressive professional record of 27 victories and 5 losses, stepped into the octagon to go head-to-head with Abus Magomedov, who held a record of 25 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw.

Strickland left little room for doubt about his worthiness for a title shot as he emphatically secured a second-round knockout against a rising UFC fighter.

Does Sean Strickland deserve a title shot

At the post-fight press conference, Strickland made it clear that his goal is to compete for the title in his next fight. ‘Tarzan’ believes that him vs Israel Adesanya needs to happen.

“We know Izzy is on f*cking repeat, dude. They try to bring Abus (in). This is what the UFC said, ‘Man, the middleweight division is stagnant. Let’s get Abus in here. He might beat Sean.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah right, mother f*cker.” Sean said.

The American fighter expressed his confidence, stating that he has accomplished a lot by defeating numerous newcomers. The 32-year-old fighter thinks his performance tonight further showcased his capabilities.

“Wait until you see what happens. Every time they’ve tried to bring new blood, (like) the Frenchie I fought before, sent him home. This guy, I sent him back. Give me the f*cking title. I earned it.” Sean added.
