Watch: Dana White and wife Anne get into physical altercation on New Years Eve in Mexico, footage goes viral

Dana White, the finest negotiator in combat sports, has shown his calm mentality while handling several fighting events, but at this New Year’s Eve party, the UFC president lost his cool and slapped his wife, Anne White.

The slapping video went viral, and it can be seen that the couple was dancing at the party when Dana said something to Anne, and in response, Anne slapped Dana, which enraged the Irish American businessman, and he slapped her back.

Later, talking to TMZ, the UFC president revealed that it was totally an unwanted altercation and that drinking way too much alcohol was the main reason for that incident.

“I’m in Cabo, Mexico, for the holidays with my family, and my wife and I were out with family on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened. I’m one of the guys, you’ve heard me say for years. There’s never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman. And now here I am on TMZ talking about it.”

“There was definitely a lot of alcohol, but there’s no excuse,” White continued.

The 53-year-old also stated that he deserves all the criticism and confirmed that he has apologized to his wife and family.

“I don’t know why it happened. My wife and I have apologized to each other. We’ve apologized to our kids.”

TMZ also spoke with Dana’s wife, who issued a longer statement in which she asked everyone to respect their privacy for the sake of their children.

“Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement—nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve, and things got out of control on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
