Josh Harrell’s takedown attempt goes horribly wrong at LFA 160

LFA 160 featured many exciting matchups that kept the viewers entertained throughout Friday evening. Fans all around the world witnessed the event live on UFC Fight Pass. Speaking of which, the moment that probably grabbed the most attention was Josiah Harrell blasting Mike Roberts through the cage during his debut fight.

In the third round of the bout, Harrell attempted an explosive double-leg takedown which sent Mike Roberts flying through the cage door. This caused a big scare and an unusual incident as the cage doors are normally tough enough to withstand a lot of force. Fortunately, Roberts didn’t suffer any injury and after a short break, the two welterweights continued fighting.

Once the fight was resumed, Josiah Harrell established his dominance over his opponent and landed many vicious ground-and-pound strikes. In the third minute of the third round, the referee decided to stop the fight and Muscle Hamster won the bout via TKO.

Taking a look at Josiah Harrell’s MMA Record

Josiah Harrell made his MMA debut in 2018 against Jerald Spohn at the BCM promotions which ended in a draw. Thereafter the Muscle Hamster took his talents to his hometown’s MMA organization Ohio Combat League for the next six fights.

The American welterweight continued his dominance inside the octagon as he finished all six of his opponents via knockouts and submissions. In 2022, Harrell competed in the Cage Fury 113 event against Tracy Reeder and extended his streak to seven wins as he stopped his opponent in the second round of the fight.

Consequently, he earned an opportunity to fight at the Legacy Fighting Championship and the welterweight contender took this chance with both hands as he put on yet another dominant performance and finished Mike Roberts in the third round. So far the Ohio-born fighter has displayed great potential as he has a record of 8-0-1. This shows that he definitely has the skills to make it into the big leagues.

However, Josiah would have to rack up a lot more wins if he needs to grab the eyeballs of big MMA organizations like UFC, Bellator, PFL, or One FC.
