Weeks after USADA issues, Dana White backs Conor McGregor with potential TUF bout date vs Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor’s return bout against Michael Chandler is considered to be the most anticipated fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship this year. However, Dana White recently discussed the probable date for the fight amid the Irishman’s USADA situation.

MMA fans are ecstatic about The Notorious’ return to the octagon to take on Michael Chandler. Fans now seem to be questioning whether the bout will ultimately take place this year, given how the fight planning has developed over the last four months.

Dana White on Conor McGregor’s USADA issue

Mystic Mac is still ineligible to compete in his matchup with “Iron,” according to USADA, unless he re-enrolls and displays clean results at least twice in the following six months. Dana addressed the volatile McGregor situation during the UFC Vegas 73 post-fight press conference.

“He has to get into the USADA pool first. He’s filling out the paperwork. I don’t know how soon that will be done or what’s going on, but that’s his business, that he’s handling with USADA. But it’s all in motion.” Dana said.

By this time, an important fight involving the top UFC superstar should have a set date, venue, and fight card. Dana also spoke about that at the UFC Charlotte post-fight news conference.

“That’s what we’re shooting for. Hopefully we have a big fight in Madison Square Garden in November, and then a big fight in December.” Dana added.

The Notorious on USADA testing pool regulation

A fighter must have spent at least six months in the USADA pool prior to a bout, as required by the regulations. So, if The Notorious wants to fight Chandler in November, he needs to join the pool right away.

The Notorious is reportedly becoming more emphatic about his refusal to participate in the testing pool despite USADA’s continued pressure to do so. The Irishman doesn’t appear to have had any intention of following these regulations thus far claiming himself to be clean.
