“Be a reflection of god’s love, his forgiveness” Jon Jones reveals remarkable motivating factor behind his fighting career ahead of UFC 285 bout vs Ciryl Gane

MMA fans are expecting something big from UFC 285 as Jon Jones will finally make his much-anticipated comeback against Cyril’ Bon Gamin’ Gane. Jones has been away from competition for a while now and believes there might be a divine connection behind the continuation of his career.

What did Jones say regarding his divine connection?

Jones spoke on the matter, saying,

“My motivation is to become the best man that I can be. Be a reflection of god’s love, his forgiveness, and ultimately have fans from around the world to see the Christ that’s inside of me. None of us are perfect. We all have ups and downs in life.”

He continued, “I genuinely believe that my imperfection makes me very relatable to a lot of people and one of my goals is for people to one day see that if a person like Jon can love Jesus Christ, and a person like Jon can have a relationship with Jesus Christ then maybe I can, too. I really believe that my platform one day [is] gonna lead a lot of people to Jesus Christ.”

He further added, “I’m not saying I won’t make mistakes again in the future, but I’m gonna be a man with a lot of experience. Ultimately, I really do believe a few souls will be saved because of my existence and that is my motivation. To build a big platform and find ways to give glory to God.”

How much does Jon Jones reflect his own words?

‘Bones’ has not been the best role model outside the Octagon. Even if we look past the steroid issues, he has been criticized for attacking women, getting drunk and causing mayhem, fighting dirty, and making things personal against some of his opponents. The heavyweight is not a teenager anymore and is probably not getting younger.

We hope Jon lives up to his words and becomes a better version of himself.
