Belal Muhammad lashes out at Colby Covington’s threats on Jon Anik promising to “slap him right in his mouth”

There is a lot going on in the UFC right now, with Colby Covington at the center of all the on-going drama. Many people, including Jon Anik, were disappointed by Dana White’s choice to match Colby up with the current welterweight champion Leon Edwards. ‘Chaos’ viciously criticised Anik for saying Belal Muhammad is a much more deserving candidate for the title than him.

What did Jon Anik say regarding Colby Covington getting a title shot?

Jon Anik, the play-by-play commentator for the UFC, shared his thoughts on the probable opponent for “Rocky” in his next title defense fight. Belal, in Jon’s opinion, is a viable pick to defeat Leon. Anik not just expressed his opinion, but he also did provide compelling evidence in support of it.

“Understand acutely why Colby Covington was the back-up. But hard not to feel for [Belal Muhammad]. Nine-fight unbeaten streak. Hasn’t lost in four-plus years. Just KO’d a previously undefeated fighter. The man deserves his respect. I don’t say that because he hosts a podcast with my twin bro.” said Anik.

How did Colby Covington reacted to Jon Anik’s tweet?

Colby, who hasn’t fought since winning over Jorge Masvidal in UFC 272 on March 5th, went totally nuts at Anik for picking Belal over him. The former interim welterweight title holder took to Twitter to brutally attack Jon for underestimating him.

“You wanted to lick my balls in London, ‘Oh Colby …’ But then you want to go back behind the stage and cheerlead for a racist. So he associates with racism and Belal Muhammad. Jon Anik, I don’t want your kids to grow up without a dad. Just realize you live in Boca, I live in Miami mother—ker. You’re not too far from me so you better shut your f—king mouth. You poke the bear, now you get the bear comes after you.” said Covington.

Why does Colby Covington get a response from Belal Muhammad?

Colby Covington and Jon Anik’s argument forced Belal Muhammad, who was good friends with both Jon Anik and his brother Jason, to step in and intervene. ‘Remember The Name’ also frequently takes part in Jon’s podcast, “Anik and Florian Podcast,” which is hosted by his brother Jason. So it was expected that Belal wouldn’t take Colby’s threat lightly.

“You’re coming at a guy like Jon Anik, who is the nicest guy in the world, and why? Because Jon Anik gave me an interview? You’re calling him a racist. You’re calling him this and you’re threatening a guy like Jon Anik? I texted Jon and I said I can’t wait to come to Miami in two weeks because I’m cornering my teammate Ignacio Bahamondes.” Belal said

The 34-year-old fighter wishes to see Colby when he goes to Miami and wants Chaos to look at Jon in a certain way of disrespect. Belal swears that he is going to walk right up to Colby and slap him right in his mouth.

“If I do see you in Miami, it’s on sight. You’re the king of Miami. You’re this, you’re that, so meet me in Miami. I’ll be down there. Let’s see how tough you are when I come to your city. Let’s see how tough you are when I’m actually in front of you.” Belal added.
