Lionel Messi’s father reportedly meets Barcelona president Joan Laporta amid PSG superstar’s uncertain future

Lionel Messi has been the talk of the town for eternity due to his magical display on the pitch and the Argentine sensation is discussed heavily nowadays as he will be out of contract with PSG in six months and his future is what transpired the dispute most.

Lionel Messi is at the heart of the teams he has represented throughout his career and losing him as a free agent is the most difficult thing as PSG is trying its level best to keep the Superstar in the French Capital.

But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is not interested to sign a contract extension with PSG as he is exploring options with Barcelona which could be a possible destination for him following his bitter departure from the club back in 2021.

Lionel Messi left Barcelona in August 2021 after his contract expired and the club’s financial situation, combined with La Liga’s salary cap rules, made it difficult for them to offer Messi a new contract.

However, a potential return to the Catalan club could be feasible as Jorge Messi, father of Lionel Messi held talk with the Barcelona president Juan Laporta about sketching a move for the Argentine.

Lionel Messi and Joan Laporta have had a long-standing relationship that goes beyond their professional lives as Laporta was the president of FC Barcelona when Messi first signed with the club as a young teenager, and he played a crucial role in the development of Messi’s career.

The understanding between Lionel Messi and Juan Laporta could prove vital in terms of his returning to the Blaugrana and under Laporta’s leadership, Barcelona became one of the most successful football clubs in the world.

Laporta was vocal about his desire to keep Messi at Barcelona when he was destined to leave the club, and the President has worked hard to rebuild the relationship between the club and the player.

Whether Messi will end up at Barcelona following the expiry of his current deal remains under the clouds but the World Cup Winning Superstar has full focus on PSG’s visit to Munich for the return leg of the UCL round of sixteen.
