UFC’s long-awaited return to Brazil was decorated with the people, culture, and most importantly fighters that represent the land of Samba. Fighters like the Bonfim brothers picked up their wins, Deiveson Figuero tried to defend his title and Glover had the last bout of his career. One of the most entertaining segments of the event week was seeing the Brazilian UFC stars on stage.

What did the Brazilian UFC stars discuss?
There they were, Rafael Dos Anjos, Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira, Alex ‘Paotan’ Pereira and Jose Aldo! With Charles and Anjos already competing in the lightweight division and Jose already facing him off once, the name of Conor McGregor was expected to come up at some point. And come up it did with the fighters offering interesting responses.
In response to the question of who should welcome ‘The Mystic Mac’ back inside the Octagon, Aldo said, “I pick ‘Poatan. Poatan’ can knock him out. Isn’t [McGregor] a heavyweight now, going to 185 pounds? We have Rafael at 170, we have Charles at 155. Our team is ready. Everybody wants this opportunity [laughs].”
Oliveira chimed in, “There are no fools here, everybody knows we want this fight because he’ll give us a lot of money, but I do think he’s a guy that needs to be hyped,”
Dos Anjos shared his piece, “Conor picks his fights. As Charles said, everybody wants this fight because it will be lucrative. He picks his fights. When he feels that’s the fight for him, he’ll choose it. We’ll be waiting but we’ll continue fighting in the meantime.”
Dos Anjos currently is fighting in both the Lightweight and Welterweight divisions. After a loss to Fiziev, it’s unclear where he’ll go. Pereira has his rematch against Adesanya confirmed and Charles is looking to make a comeback soon.
What was your reaction to all the Brazilian stars on the same stage together?
