White Sox right-hander Mike Clevinger under MLB investigation for alleged domestic violence, child abuse

The Chicago White Sox star pitcher Mike Clevinger hasn’t gotten a chance to throw his deadly curveball pitches, but it appears he has been practicing at home with his family.

The pitcher last pitched in 2022 for the San Diego Padres, and later in December of that year, he signed an $8 million contract for one year with the Boston White Sox. Prior to his arrival in Chicago, he played for the Padres and the Cleveland Indians, and he brought his family often on the road while playing.

His girlfriend, Olivia Finestead, recently made a serious accusation by revealing numerous shocking pieces of evidence against the right-handed pitcher.

What did Mike Clevinger do to Olivia Finestead?

Yesterday, Olivia, the mother of Mike’s youngest daughter, shared some disturbing information on her Instagram story, accusing the 32-year-old pitcher of domestic violence and child abuse.

In her story, she claimed the father choked her in a hotel room back in June 2022 and spit used tobacco on their 10-month-old daughter.

Following the accusation published in the media on Tuesday, the MLB has started its investigation into the alleged crime.

Though the White Sox and the MLB claim they had no clue at any time that the athlete had such a bad reputation.

However, Finestead didn’t blame the organizations, saying, “I was told the white sox didn’t have a clue of Mike’s investigation. Can’t blame an organization for something they don’t know. I hope the MLB does what they should and puts him in required therapy maybe even a small suspension so he can take time out to really think about why he abuses his kids and their mothers.”

After the investigation was officially initiated, the White Sox released a statement including their ignorance of the player’s activities before the signing: “Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox take any and all allegations very seriously, and the White Sox are completely supportive of the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse policy shared by MLB and the MLBPA.”

Previously, the mother shared several undeniable documents on Instagram and received overwhelming support from netizens. Clevinger might receive a huge penalty, including jail time if the allegation is proven true.

Clevinger has a pretty decent record for his deadly pitching delivery, bagging 694 strikeouts in 656.2 innings allowed only 56 runs on 102 hits.

Despite limited game time for the Padres the past two years due to injuries, Baseball Reference projected him to be an influential pitcher for the White Sox this season.

What do you think regarding the allegations against Mike Clevinger? Is he really capable of such behavior with his child and girlfriend? Leave us your opinions in the comments.
