Bucks F Giannis Antetokounmpo confesses his genuine thoughts on LeBron James stating Lakers’ king serves “absolute example” for NBA players

The NBA sensation Giannis Antetokounmpo has established himself as one of the most prolific athletes in recent history, yet he doesn’t think of himself as an idol.

On Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Milwaukee Bucks star faced his idol’s team. The Lakers’ superstar, Lebron James, wasn’t featured in the game, but there was a ‘highest point scorer’ vibe at the Crypto.com Arena that night.

However, the Bucks star was moved by his idol’s performance throughout his career, and he revealed this before the game vs. the Lakers.

What did Giannis Antetokounmpo say about LeBron James?

The 38-year-old NBA legend living his career inspired the 2021 NBA champion. “For me, he is the absolute example, and I just hope to stay healthy and follow in his footsteps and get to a point where when I look back, I would be absolutely proud of what I have achieved in the NBA,” Giannis said.

Since the beginning of his basketball career, the 28-year-old has looked up to LeBron as a role model. He even believes there is no other way to achieve success. “Whoever wants to follow this example can do it. If someone does not, he will stay behind,” Giannis went on.

For the younger generation, the Greek freak is an iconic model growing up, and people in Milwaukee have a lot to be proud of about the 7-foot giant.

The power forward didn’t hesitate to compliment his idol on the face: “When we talked before the game, I told him that: You have a great trajectory, for sure, you have even more years coming, but you are already an example for many, and for me, you are the absolute example.”

“Because you have played for 20 years, for 20 great years, you are constantly among the best of the NBA,” he expressed his belief. And we also can’t deny the fact that when LeBron James retires, he will leave an untouchable record for the future stars.

When another GOAT, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, retired with the most points in NBA history, it seemed unattainable. But Lebron did it; he set the bar higher, even making it more impossible for an upcoming competitor like Antetokounmpo.

But he also made an excellent example of pursuing your goal and never quitting until you earned it. Players like Giannis Antetokounmpo have adopted this attitude and are eager to make history in the coming era.
