Jets OC downplays hype despite ex-Packers QB Aaron Rodgers addition emphasizing importance of cohesion for success

The addition of Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets has certainly caused a stir amongst fans and analysts alike, with many touting the team as a potential contender for the Super Bowl this season. However, Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is downplaying the hype of Rodgers and emphasizing the importance of cohesion for success.

Hackett’s message is clear: potential is meaningless without cohesion. While the Jets may have a talented roster, they need to work together and build chemistry if they want to see success on the field.

“Potential is one of those fancy words that we haven’t done anything yet,” Hackett said. “Right now, we have some very good pieces, some very good people and players on the field. There has to be cohesion, there has to be a mesh.”

Hackett acknowledges that there will be growing pains and bumps along the way, but it’s all part of the process of getting everyone comfortable with each other.

Aaron Rodgers has a unique style that he brings to the field

As someone who previously worked with Rodgers as his offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers, Hackett knows firsthand the unique style of play that the future Hall of Famer brings to the field.

He understands that there will be adjustments that need to be made by both Rodgers and his new teammates in New York.

“Aaron runs things on the field very uniquely, so there are a lot of things the guys are going to have to learn and get used to. Where that goes, I’m not sure. But I know there’s going to be some growing pains, there’s going to be some bumps.”

But Hackett is optimistic about the potential for the team to come together and build that cohesion.

“It is just about us getting on the field, everybody getting comfortable with each other and we will see where it goes.”

Ultimately, it remains to be seen just how much the Jets will improve this season. But Hackett’s emphasis on cohesion is a reminder that success isn’t just about having talented individuals on the field – it’s about building a team that works well together and can execute as a unit. If the Jets can achieve that, they may just live up to the hype after all.
