MLB trade rumors: All eyes at Johnny Cueto, Zach Davies to continue with Diamondbacks

As the MLB holiday season is ongoing, the franchises are looking for some effective signage for the upcoming fixtures. Free agents Johnny Cueto and Zach Davies are making quite a stir in the trade market.

Johnny Cueto signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox last year but couldn’t perform up to expectations. On the other hand, Zach Davies completed a season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, playing 27 games. Let’s see where this duo ends up next season.

Johnny Cueto rumor

According to famous Ken Rosenthal, the 36-year-old right-handed pitcher could be a lucrative option for the San Diego Padres, Miami Marlins, or Cincinnati Reds. The veteran has a 57.2% win percentage and a 3.44 ERA in 355 games during his 15-year playing career.

The pitcher had his best time with the Reds, who played eight long seasons and won the World Series as it seems the reds has the upper hand till now. However, it will tough for Johnny as they have starting pitchers like Alexis Diaz, Hunter Greene etc.

Zach Davies and Arizona Diamondbacks’ back and forth game

The Diamondbacks again signed pitcher Zach Davies for $5 million after a $1.75 million one-year contract. Zach had pretty normal stats for the D-backs with 102 strikeouts and a 4.09 ERA. Pitching coach Brent Storm might get a hint of potential from the 29-year-old righty.

The Diamondbacks are building a strong roster by signing baseman Evan Longoria and relievers Miguel Castro and Scott McGough. Davis’ return sends an alarming message to their rival of fierce competition.

Do you think the signing of Cueto and Davies brings luck to their teams? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned for more news.
