Reigning World Champion Max Verstappen–who is already an influential figure–goes under the spotlights now and then in the world of Formula 1. But this time he has got the attention from both the footballing and F1 world, due to a certain Cristiano Ronaldo connection.
Max Verstappen, who is the inspiration of many people himself, has recently revealed his life decision that was inspired by the ‘goal-machine’ Cristiano Ronaldo.
Max Verstappen cites Cristiano Ronaldo’s example to disclose personal detail
Many famous Formula 1 drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Daniel Ricciardo have applied tattoos on their body as a form of expressing themselves. But current F1 champion Max Verstappen doesn’t seem to have any tattoos on his body.
In a segment of an interview–where he answered the most searched questions about him–Verstappen was asked whether he has any tattoos on his body or not. He denied having any tattoos and revealed that the reason behind it is none other than football’s all-time highest goal-scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Replying to the question, the Dutch-Belgian speedster said, “No, I actually read quite an interesting story about why Ronaldo doesn’t have tattoos, right? So, he can donate blood.”
Although Ronaldo has no issues with tattoos, there is a 4-month waiting period (to apply tattoos) that he has to comply with after donating blood, which he does now and then. So, due to this, the Portuguese sensation avoids tattoos permanently, and has heavily influenced Verstappen in doing the same.
This is not the first time Max Verstappen has referenced Ronaldo in one way or another: previously he joined the ‘Messi vs. Ronaldo GOAT’ debate.
Verstappen’s take on Messi vs Ronaldo debate
Back in December ’22, right after Messi’s WC win with Argentina, Max Verstappen joined the ‘Messi vs. Ronaldo’ debate club and gave his thoughts on football’s ‘Greatest of All Time’ status.
In an interview with Viaplay in the Netherlands, ahead of Argentina’s win, Verstappen was asked about who he thinks is better: Messi or Ronaldo? To this, the Dutchman replied, “They are very different, so I can’t choose”.
Admiring both the footballing ‘living’ legends, he explained, “I find it impossible to choose because I think Messi has more talent than Cristiano, but Cristiano has just kept on working and being incredibly fit.”
“I mean what he does at his age is incredible, but that’s how you can become very, very good as well,” he told Viaplay.
From what SportsZion understands, Max Verstappen subtly appears to be more of the ‘Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT’ opinion in the ‘Messi vs. Ronaldo’ debate.
