Steelers having the upper hand following Jadeveon Clowney sent home after public criticism incident

The final game week of the NFL season will feature several pivotal matchups, including the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns tomorrow. The Steelers will have a slight advantage in the game at Acrisure Stadium.

The Steelers are third in the AFC North, one game ahead of the Browns. If they lose, the Browns will be tied with them, putting them in a bind. Fortunately, internal discontent among the Browns and Jadeveon Clowney in their locker room may give the Steelers an advantage.

What actually did Jadeveon Clowney do?

Clowney, a 29-year-old defensive end, is upset with the decision made by management. He had disagreements with the coaching staff regarding his playing time and also with DE Myles Garrett. He said, “You’re all trying to get somebody into the Hall of Fame when all that matters is winning. Everybody got here for a reason, and we can all make plays. I know I am.”

It was a clear indication of Myles’ incredible performance throughout the season and his career. The four-time Pro Bowler with the Browns has already completed 15 sacks and 34 solo tackles, while the three-timer has only completed two and fourteen, respectively.

Jadeveon believes it is strange that Garrett, 27, must go through such a lengthy process to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. It appears the former is somehow jealous of the latter’s consistency.

Myles, on the other hand, didn’t take the tantrum personally and said, “Did I know he was unhappy? I knew he was frustrated. We have all been frustrated with not winning. I know he wants to produce more. Hell, I want to produce more. We all want to do more. You all feel like you can do more, especially when you are not winning.”

Following the tantrum, coach Kevin Stefanski sent the player home from training to keep the team’s mentality high ahead of the clash against the Steelers. Both teams have a slim chance of making the playoffs. However, the recent drama might affect the team’s morale, and the Steelers need to take it as an opportunity in their home stadium.

What do you think about Jadeveon Clowney’s comment? Can his behavior give the Pittsburgh Steelers any advantage? We will know after the results come in. In the meantime, please share your thoughts.
