Chiefs unveiled diamond Super Bowl rings to Patrick Mahomes & Co sends fans into frenzy: ‘‘Best SB ring in the history’’

The Kansas City Chiefs had been lucky enough to receive Super Bowl rings for the second time in the last four years with the phenomenal performance of their young quarterback Patrick Mahomes along with his formidable weapons.

The team unveiled their highly anticipated diamond-encrusted Super Bowl rings following four months after their Super Bowl LVII victory against the Philadelphia Eagles at a private ceremony at Union Station on Thursday night.

How much do Super Bowl rings cost?

The final price of the NFL rings usually ranges between $30-50K and the league contributes from $5k-7k per ring for up to 150 rings per team while additional costs are being imposed on the team.

The Chiefs each ring features a removable top along with the team’s logo and three Super Bowl titles. Each ring is 16.1 total carats with over 600 diamonds and 35 custom-cut genuine rubies while the logo contains 50 diamonds as well as 16 custom-cut rubies. The logo and Super Bowl Trophies are surrounded by 38 diamonds for the number of points the defending champions scored against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City’s Super Bowl LIV contained 3.3 carats worth of diamonds and 5.95 carats of rubies for a total gem carat weight of 10.85 and one of the rings from that season was sold for at least $16,000 and was valued at $50,000 when it was put up for auction by a player.

The Chiefs QB Mahomes had some contributions in designing the Super Bowl LVII rings and he opened up to the reporters about the news with a tone of excitement.

“Yeah, I’m very excited. I mean, that’s what you work for most to win the Super Bowl and get those rings, as they last a lifetime. And to see them, I know they’ve done a great job with them. I got to help out a little bit with the creation process. So they’re they did a great job with them. But tonight is the last night you get to celebrate it. And then we’re moving on to the next season.”

Why do NFL teams get rings for winning the Super Bowl?

A championship ring, also known as a premiership ring, has long been a part of North American sports for many years now and the four most renowned as well as expensive championship rings belong to the “Big Four” professional sports leagues including the Stanley Cup ring from the NHL, the NBA championship ring, the NFL Super Bowl ring, and the MLB World Series ring.

The NFL Super Bowl rings are given to every player and club official of the winning team to keep for themselves as a souvenir of their success, even the losing team also gets rings as they are the champion of their conference AFC or NFC, albeit those rings would not be as expensive as the winning team’s rings.

Super Bowl Rings

These rings play a crucial role in determining the overall success of a player as the number of championship rings a person got, works as a measure of their personal accomplishment instead of the number of championship trophies.

The Chiefs’ victory is etched into the annals of Super Bowl history, and with a bunch of promising players, the team is aimed to make more Super Bowl titles in their names. Football fans will cherish witnessing the expensive rings shining brightly on the fingers of deserving champions.
