The life of Henry Ruggs was forever changed on November 2, 2021, when he was involved in a fatal car crash that took the life of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog. On Wednesday, May 11, 2023, Ruggs officially pleaded guilty to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in Nevada’s Clark County. He now faces up to 10 years in a Nevada state prison.
Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs has pleaded guilty after almost one year of investigation and he will now face the consequences of this tragic incident.
Ruggs, who was driving at a speed of 156 mph, hit the back of Tintor’s vehicle, causing it to catch fire. Despite efforts by firefighters, Tintor was unable to be rescued.
Henry Ruggs faces up to 10 years in prison
Ruggs’ blood-alcohol level was found to be 0.16 after the crash, twice the legal limit in Nevada. Ruggs is expected to receive a sentence of three to 10 years in a Nevada state prison on Aug. 9. Until then, he will be under house arrest and monitored with alcohol and location electronic devices.
Tintor’s family members were in court during Ruggs’ plea, and they released a statement through their attorneys expressing their hope that others learn from the preventable incident so that no other families suffer as they have.
The tragedy that occurred on that fateful November day in 2021 will never be forgotten. The life of Tina Tintor was cut tragically short, and the lives of her family members were forever changed.
