Overwatch 2 announces partnership with Porsche just days after collab with Cowboy Bebop

Different motor companies have already been involved with Esports, where Honda sponsored the previous League of Legends and Hearthstone tournaments. Recently, Activision Blizzard has announced a partnership with Porshe that will bring brand-new cosmetics to Overwatch 2. A popular hero is confirmed to receive their machine’s overhaul based on this collaboration.

This news comes on the heels of Overwatch 2’s deal with Cowboy Bebop and One Punch Man. For the players, this will mean more content for the ongoing Season 9.

Details on Overwatch 2 and Porsche partnership

This is the first time Porshe is joining hands with a competitive Esports franchise. Previously, it worked with Forza to bring exclusive cars to the popular racing franchise. Blizzard announced the deal at the ongoing South by Southwest (SXSW) 2024. Under the agreement, Overwatch will feature mechs designed in conjunction with Porche. The Machan E.V. will be a big design inspiration in Overwatch 2.

There are two mech skins to arrive. The first will feature D.Va and the machine she uses in the game. Machan’s front LEDs make a prominent appearance in the design. You can see the resemblance in the front and shoulder lights. Not to mention Porche’s legendary white paint, which appears in the mech. The second skin will arrive after the conclusion of Season 10.

To showcase the design, Porsche has worked with Onyx Forge Studios to design a 7-foot-tall statue of the mech. They have intricately maintained their design, similar to its appearance in the game. Porsche has kept the figurine on display at SXSW till March 12. It is set to appear at different Overwatch tournaments happening worldwide this year.

Cowboy Bebop and Overwatch 2 announce interesting collab

Just a few days ago, Overwatch 2 announced the arrival of Cowboy Bebop. Starting March 12, fans will be able to equip their characters resembling Spike Spiegel, Faye Valentine, Ed, and Jett Black. Not to mention, the popular tracks will be integrated into the game and appear as part of the emotes and highlight intros.

The good news is that the Ein skin can be unlocked for free. You will need to purchase the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass to get the rest of the skins.

Right now, four characters from the game will be able to don the iconic outfits from the hit 1998 anime. Cassidy, Ashe, Mauga, Sombra, and Wrecking Ball are getting the new skins. Blizzard may bring this to other characters, but that is not yet announced.
