There were several fantastic fights at Bellator 292, but the one between Michael Page and Goiti Yamauchi stunned the spectators as Goiti’s knee was shattered in a horrifying manner.

The main event of Bellator 292, which took place on Friday night at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, featured a fight between Benson Henderson and Usman Nurmagomedov. In a welterweight fight during the main card Page and Yamauchi fought and Page defeated his Brazilian opponent just in the first round.

How Michael Page shattered Goiti Yamauchi’s knee?

In the 26th second of the fight, Venom shot a lightning bolt-like leg kick right at the knee of his opponent. Yamauchi, who has a record of 28 wins and 6 losses in his professional mixed martial arts career, did not see that kick coming, and he fell instantaneously and was unable to stand as a result of breaking his knee.

Page (21-2-0) got back on the winning track with this easy triumph. Last year the British fighter suffered a defeat against Logan Storley which was just the second loss of his professional MMA career.

The knee shatter also shocked Venom as he did not realize the depth of the injury at first sight.  Later in a post-fight interview with the MMA Junkie, Page shared his surprise at the horrible knockout he caused.

”I saw him go down and I just thought, I don’t know – nerve (damage), whatever. But when I saw him grasp his leg, I was like, ‘He’s not getting back up.’ I didn’t see the lump (in his kneecap) until I looked up at the screen. I’m in my celebrating element, and then I actually looked up to see what it was, and it kind of took the energy out of me.”  said Page.
