“He’ll give you the shirt off his back” Wolverines’ HC Juwan Howard reveals kind-hearted gesture of trash talking Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is known for talking trash about his opponents in a way that puts them under a lot of pressure. Even at the top level of competition, Jordan played mind games to get the upper hand on the hardwood. However, Michigan Wolverines’ head coach Juwan Howard has revealed a heart-touching story he experienced as a player.

During his time with the Washington Wizards, Juwan got to know the cold-hearted GOAT on a personal level. He revealed his encounter with humble Jordan in Los Angeles in an interview with Dan Patrick. Michael Jordan had to go to Hollywood for the shooting of Space Jam, where he dragged their common trainer, Tim Grover. Having no other choice, the Wizard’s PF was also flown to LA for training.

What actually happened to Juwan Howard in Los Angeles?

Initially, Howard rented a room in a motel for his temporary stay, but he didn’t realize what might happen later. When Michael learned of the fellow athlete’s condition, he immediately invited him to stay at his house. “The first day I traveled to LA, I got to the gym, and MJ had heard I was going to be there, he was looking forward to me working out with him. So he offered to give me a room in his house that he was staying at. And I’m like, “You know, I don’t want to impose on you.” He’s like “No, you know what, my wife is leaving, I have plenty of room, you can stay with us. I just appreciate the fact that you flew all the way here to come work out,”” Howard revealed on the show.

“That was just so nice and kind for MJ to do that. I will never, ever forget that. I got a chance to work out with him the entire summer…. MJ is that type of guy. He’ll give you the shirt off his back, but when it comes time to lace up on the court and you’re standing side-by-side and you’re on the opposite team, you better believe he’s going to do whatever it takes to win,” Howard added.

Other side of Michael Jordan

Jordan’s generosity doesn’t end there. He let other athletes like Reggie Miller, Tim Hardaway, and Patrick Ewing use his state-of-the-art basketball facility, the Jordan Dome. Even some college players were fortunate enough to get a spot in the Jordan Dome, situated at Warner Bros.’ VIP parking lot.

Every person has a multidimensional personality. We can see only their outer shell, but they have a soft human side hidden inside. Six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan is the best example of it.
