“Oh my goodness” Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s athleticism leaves Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in awe

The Milwaukee Bucks have been blessed by certain superstars of two generations, like the GOAT Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and, recently, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Kareem played six years for the Bucks in the 70’s decade and managed to gain the first-ever goat title in the NBA’s history. He held the all-time scoring record until recently when LeBron James broke it in the last month. Even he was an integral part of the Bucks’ 23-game winning streak in the 1970–71 season.

It was quite a wholesome moment when he praised his successor, Giannis, in an interview. It was one of those moments when we can say, “The game recognized the game.”

What does Kareem Abdul Jabbar say about Giannis Antetokounmpo?

In an interview in September last year, the 75-year-old legend hailed the Greek freak’s athleticism. When asked about Antetokounmpo, Abdul Jabbar appeared to be impressed by the generational star.

“The young man from Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo, yeah, he gets it off the defensive board, and he’s almost seven feet, and he turns into a guard, and you know, he attacks the offensive end of the court,” the six-time NBA champion said.

Abdul Jabbar even expressed the culture of his time, where defensive players like him weren’t popular enough to get that much offensive. These remarks clearly indicate the versatility of Giannis.

There are a couple of more distinctive similarities between the two Bucks superstars; both of them are 7 feet tall and very effective at dunking baskets.

The 28-year-old was also part of the Bucks’ second and third-highest winning streaks in the span of three seasons. Their dominant display over the hardwood was so mesmerizing that the opponent tends to just watch them play rather than defend.
