“It’s always been like that, it’s nothing new”: Jon Joyce claims to know real reason why Oleksandr Usyk won’t fight him

Joe Joyce is speculated to lock horns with Oleksandr Usyk. However, he feels that Oleksandr Usyk would avoid a title fight between the two. Usk may have to join the mandatory fight.

The ‘Juggernaut’ is currently scheduled to return on April 22nd, when he will take on Zhilei Zhang to defend his status as the WBO’s No. 1 contender. Current champion Usyk looked set to face Tyson Fury in an undisputed title fight, but after negotiations stalled, the showdown was called off and Joyce will fight both heavyweights if Chan is defeated. claimed.

Joyce will have to wait before fighting Usyk. The Ukrainian is likely to face WBA contender Daniel Dubois for the first time this summer after the collapse. The British star, who previously defeated Dubois, said Usyk would face the clash. Not confident about accepting, he suggests that he could aim for a WBC title shot with Fury instead.

Joe Joyce is not happy about Oleksandr Usyk’s decision

Joyce said in an exclusive chat with Mirror Fighting that he is kind of waiting to see which one of the two options opens up next. Having said that, he thinks Usyk won’t agree with his proposal.

Usyk has already said that he doesn’t want to fight him. Joyce claimed that Usyk thought of himself as a “tank”. At least Usyk was claiming it that way. He pointed out the difference noting Fury said he would like that fight.

He also added that he is the number two heavyweight.  Which is why, he wants this fight to go ahead. Joyce is confident that he will beat up Zhang back in London town, After that he wants to have a go at Fury. It is because he backs himself to fight anyone and beat them.

Joyce is particularly confident about Fury, The two have shared the ring. Joyce claimed that he did well in sparring too. The sessions were 50/50 as they did good work.

On the other hand, Usyk joked last year that he didn’t want to fight a major contender. This is what Joyce referred to. Usyk claimed because of his height and build, as well as his fighting style he could not do that. This was largely due to his planned pursuit of Fury. However, that fell apart like a house of cards. The fight never saw the light of day after the two went back and forth.

Do you think Usyk should fight Joyce? Or Dubois is the proper challenger for him?
