“We pay you all this money for what?” Tyreek Hill brutally criticized by Mike McDaniel for his playoff performance

Tyreek Hill, who is facing divorce rumors is considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and is paid accordingly. The WR signed a lucrative deal with the Dolphins in 2022, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.

However, he couldn’t justify his contract in the eyes of youngest and most successful HC Mike McDaniel, especially during his playoff performance. Hill recently shared that, after the playoff loss to the Chiefs, Mike McDaniel brutally criticized him for his lack of cutting-edge skills in the game.

“He [Mike McDaniel] called me out. He’s like, ‘Reek, you’re supposed to be the best player in the league, and you got this guy putting hands all over you like that. We pay you all this money for what?” Tyreek Hill said.

Hill, who was recently sued by a woman is a super speedy veteran, but no one is perfect, and Hill also couldn’t perform his best during the Dolphins playoff game against the Chiefs, as they suffered a 27-6 defeat.

Despite the coach fiercely criticizing him, Tyreek Hill expressed appreciation for McDaniel’s candid feedback, stating that he takes such criticism to heart and uses it as motivation to improve his game.

“If a mother****** cannot hold me accountable, I feel like I’m not gonna be able to get better, you know what I’m saying? Like, obviously, the coaches can bypass that, you know what I’m saying, and just be like, ‘Ah, he’ll get better from it.’”

Tyreek Hill’s performance in the 2023 season

Tyreek Hill had a remarkable 2023 season, leading the NFL in several categories as he accumulated 1,799 receiving yards, 13 touchdowns, and 112.4 yards per game.

He finished sixth in NFL MVP voting. Tyreek Hill aimed to break the NFL’s single season receiving yards record in 2023, coming close but falling short with 1,799 yards.

Despite this great performance, Tyreek Hill couldn’t beat his former team as the Chiefs dominated the playoffs.

The Dolphins faced adverse conditions when they traveled to Arrowhead Stadium, where the temperature was near freezing. Hill, who hails from a warmer region, only managed 62 receiving yards on five catches during the playoff game against the Chiefs.

Despite this lackluster performance in the playoffs, Tyreek Hill is considered one of the best WRs and will continue to play with the Dolphins in the 2024 season.
