Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has urged IBF to schedule Oleksandr Usyk versus Filip Hrgovic over highly anticipated bout with Tyson Fury

Oleksandr Usyk is ruling the Heavyweight Division as the ruling WBA, IBF and WBO champion. The boxer from Ukraine also appeared in the Olympics, where he managed to get Gold as well. Usyk has also faced off against Anthony Joshua, who is known to be an up-and-coming talent, and defeated him twice.

Recently, Oleksandr had a fight with Daniel Dubois. This was the second title defense fight of Oleksandr after defeating AJ in 2021. Despite having faced some setbacks in previous fights, Daniel intended to win but in the end, that intention did not materialize into reality. The fight has some controversy surrounding it but it is indisputable that “The Cat” emerged victorious.

Hearn has sternly said that he expects IBF to set up a fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Filip Hrgovic. “The Cat” was initially set to fight Tyson Fury next in the undisputed championship in Saudi Arabia and so far there have not been any changes to that plan. However, Eddie has been persistent about making Usyk and Hrgovic fight. He has said that Filip will not “step aside” and let Oleksandr fight someone else.

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury come face-to-face after Usyk’s latest win

The title defense of Usyk against Dubois was a fight that a lot of people were looking forward to. Being the true professional he is, Usyk instantly turned his eyes towards Tyson Fury who currently is the WBC world Heavyweight Champion. Usyk called out Fury by calling him “the Gypsy Queen” and many other names like that. Up until now, there has been no solid news about the fight happening but some information is sure to come our way soon enough.
