To avoid the MLB playoffs, Tony Khan has moved AEW Dynamite to Tuesday, giving wrestling fans a rare opportunity to watch on TV. To increase interest in NXT, WWE plans to send in big names like John Cena, Asuka, Cody Rhodes, and maybe even The Undertaker.
While AEW has yet to announce any major A-list signings, they have no intention of returning to competition with WWE. Regarding the Tuesday night war, spectators discussed on social media, with many tweeting quotes from AEW president Tony Khan. Some of the responses are really harsh.
Tony Khan swipes at Vince McMahon
According to Fightful, McMahon hasn’t been very active in WWE’s creative processes as of late. There’s more heat in the Tuesday Night War as AEW’s “Title Tuesday” Dynamite faces up against WWE NXT. WWE has been making bold attempts to defeat AEW in the ratings, but AEW President Tony Khan is unconvinced. Khan stated on social media only 24 hours before the fight that the opening 30 minutes of the TV main program would be commercial-free as part of a “Buy In” pre-show.
When a fan mentioned Khan for not having enough time to watch AEW Dynamite, he responded with a sharp retort, leading to a discussion comparing him to McMahon. When Tony made it plain that he didn’t care about WWE’s schedule or Vince’s intentions, the argument quickly subsided.
WWE’s recent high-profile signings have prompted speculation about the company’s faith in its NXT talent pool. Instead of depending on legends and significant announcements, some fans think WWE should put more emphasis on putting on the finest spectacle possible with its NXT stars. This action has led many to speculate that WWE is responding to perceived threats from AEW.
RVD compares Khan to McMahon
Wrestling legend Rob Van Dam spoke to Sportskeeda.com about his time spent in the ring with WWE and AEW owners Vince McMahon and Tony Khan. RVD is one of the few people in pro wrestling history to have worked with Khan, McMahon, and WCW’s Eric Bischoff. He spoke about how the wrestling business was affected by their various leadership styles. RVD thinks that Tony Khan is a fan in all the right ways and is respected by his wrestlers.
While comparing about them, he said, âVince McMahon is intimidating. I think a lot of people feel like heâs a very powerful figure. When youâre talking to him, you know that. His energy ⊠reeks of power and importance, and Iâve always felt that way about Vince. Tony is extremely humble. Very, very kind. Very complimentary, and does not have the energy that heâs more important than anybody else. He seems more like heâs happy to be there and appreciative.â
