“You see what happened to Anthony Joshua”: Former trainer warns Tyson Fury of Andy Ruiz’s unpredictability

The highly anticipated megafight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk that was supposed to happen in April has been postponed. Nevertheless, Andy Ruiz’s former trainer gave Fury a word of advice as the British boxer prepares to potentially face him in Summer.

The Gypsy King and ‘The Cat’ are seeking for potential opponents to fight in the summer since that Fury won’t be fighting Oleksandr until at least December of this year. Former Andy Ruiz trainer Manny Robles has provided some thoughts on Fury’s desire to take on the Destroyer.

What is Manny Robles’ opinion on the fight between Tyson Fury and Andy Ruiz?

Currently, Tyson is the subject of numerous rumors regarding potential matches. The one against Ruiz seemed to be the closest. In an interview with IFL TV, Ruiz’s former trainer Manny Robles recently spoke about the issue.

“It seems like they are getting ahead of themselves and are viewing Andy as a setup fight. Andy is not a setup fight. Look what happened to Joshua. He thought it was a set-up fight and he walked out.” said Manny.

It makes sense that no one understands Ruiz better than Manny, who was once his trainer. In fact, Robles was the boxer’s trainer when he shocked the world by defeating Anthony Joshua in 2019.

“If Andy prepares well, he’s focused well, if he dedicates himself to getting ready, being in the gym, and living a clean life, he can compete with anyone, including Tyson Fury,” Manny added.

Manny makes a valid point. Fury will have a serious issue if he believes he can overcome Ruiz with ease. Joshua made the same error of treating Ruiz carelessly. It will be interesting to see how seriously The Gypsy King approaches Ruiz now.
