CM Punk set for massive interview with Ariel Helwani ahead of WrestleMania 40

Former WWE champion CM Punk is set to appear for an interview with Ariel Helwani next week. This will be the first time he will speak after his return to WWE, almost a decade later at the Royal Rumble in February.

There were plans to headline Punk for the WrestleMania main event. However, a triceps injury prevented him from taking an active role in the action. Even though he won’t be performing in the ring, fans can expect him to be part of the mega event in one way or another.

CM Punk to appear on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani

In the latest episode of MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani confirmed CM Punk’s appearance on his show. He hyped up the interview by terming it ‘no restrictions, no holds barred.’ This statement is surely referencing the former AEW World Champion’s relationship with his former brand.

The interview promises new insights into AEW and CM Punk’s dynamics, and we can surely expect to hear the story from his point of view. Being outspoken and not afraid to point fingers at someone, expect him to spill more details about his expulsion last year.

CM Punk was fired from AEW after reports of backstage altercations with Jack Perry came to light. This happened during the London AEW All-In. Punk was unhappy with a statement made by Perry relating to the use of a glass prop in the ring. Later, AEW CEO Tony Khan revealed that he failed to communicate effectively with Punk during a later match, where he felt threatened by his demeanor.

Update on CM Punk mentioning Vince McMahon on WWE RAW

Even though he is out of action for WrestleMania, CM Punk is not going away anytime soon. He appeared on WWE Raw and made his presence known among the fans. Soon after, Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins arrived on the scene, and CM Punk took a jab at both of them.

He particularly made a reference to Vince McMahon with his statement ‘What was his name’ when McIntyre said he was The Chosen One. CM Punk did not name-call McMahon, but a wry smile on Drew’s face said it all. A silence fell over the audience soon after.

Later, Seth Rollins threw an idea about whether CM Punk could officiate his match in the upcoming WrestleMania. But he was skeptical if the former WWE Champion could do that with his injury, which prompted Punk to show the counting move with his arm. The audience seemed to like this idea, and they cheered loudly behind Punk.

Referee or not, CM Punk will be present at the upcoming WrestleMania. There are reports that he will be there as a commentator, which is exciting nonetheless for the fans of the former WWE Champion.
