6 Surprise Entrants We Would Love to See in the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2022

The Royal Rumble has been a staple of the WWE since 1988. It is arguably one of the most popular wrestling events of the year, and it is also one that we look forward to every year. Further, It’s the perfect time to shake up the roster and make some exciting developments in Royal Rumble storylines. But one of the most exciting parts about it historically has been seeing surprise entrants like Goldberg and Steve Austin enter at number 30.

Who can forget massive surprise entrances like that of John Cena in 2008 or Chris Jericho in 2013? The 2022 WWE Royal Rumble is just around the corner, and who do you think will surprise the audiences?

With that note, you may even check out online Canadian casino websites that boast WWE themed slots games featuring some of the greatest legends. With next year’s event coming up in January 2022, we are already starting to think about what surprise entrants we want to see next year, and here are 6 that we would love to see!

#06. John Cena

Although John Cena has been a free agent since 2017, he appears in the ring on a part-time basis. John Cena won two Royal Rumble in his career, and his last appearance was in 2018. However, he was rumored to make a surprise appearance at the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble. He did not appear, but then again, fans expected him in 2020 as well as in 2021.

Now that we are approaching the 2022 Royal Rumble, we are expecting John Cena as a surprise entrant as he missed WrestleMania 37 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, fans would love to see him return and re-create some epic moments with his fellow buddies.

#05. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns best wrestler of 2020

Fans may expect 2015 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns as a surprise entrant in 2022 as he did not participate in 2021. While the top wrestlers have appeared at least once in Royal Rumble in careers, Reigns is yet to be enlisted as a surprise entrant.

In his last appearance in 2020, Roman Reigns entered at number 26 and eliminated Dolph Ziggler and Edge. However, Reigns survived 16:01 and was eliminated by Drew McIntyre as the 29th opponent. Although he did not participate in 2021, he fought in the penultimate Last Man Standing match (accompanied by Paul Heyman) and defended his Universal Championship against Kevin Owens. So, this year he has a good chance to return to the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant.

#04. Samoa Joe

In the last quarter of 2021, Samoa Joe has gone through several dramas as he was released by the RAW, and they returned to NXT as the enforcer of NXT’s General Manager William Regal.

The last time Joe appeared in Royal Rumble was in 2020, and he was in the commentary box in 2021. He has been working as a commentator for the last couple of years. However, he returned to the ring recently due to a feud with NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Since Joe has returned, we can expect him in the 2022 Royal Rumble game.

#03. Matt Hardy

Although Matt Hardy left WWE in March 2020, the fans would still love to see him again inside the ring. He was widely popular as a member of the Hardy Boyz tag team with his brother Jeff Hardy. However, Matt doesn’t have a significant appearance in the Royal Rumble match. Instead, the Hardy Boyz appeared in multiple Royal Rumble events for the tag team match. Adding Matt Hardy as the surprise entrants will be a great surprise for the fans.

#02. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins The Shield

Seth Rollins has been affiliated with WWE since 2010. He had held many titles in his career and was a main fixture on RAW for years before he had to take some time off due to injury. Now that Rollins has been continuous in WWE and has appeared in the last few Royal Rumble matches, a surprise entrance will add more value to the event.

Rollins won the Royal Rumble in 2019, and in 2021, he entered at no 29. In his last appearance this year, Seth Rollins eliminated 4 opponents in 8.48 minutes.

#01. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar

WWE has seen Brock Lesnar’s second return to SummerSlam 2021. So, his surprise appearance at the 2022 Royal Rumble is expected. Previously, Brock Lesnar was the top contender at the 2020 Royal Rumble as he eliminated 13 opponents in his 26.24 minutes of survival. However, he was eliminated unexpectedly by Drew McIntyre.

Nevertheless, there is already a rumor that Lensar will be seen at the Royal Rumble, and the storyline also supports the rumor. So, will we see Brock Lesnar in the 2022 Royal Rumble? We have to wait until January 29, 2022.
